Tragedy at Pukkelpop 2011

Horror at Pukkelpop 2011. The festival that is just one hour away from my place was hit by a huge storm yesterday afternoon. Screens were knocked dows and tents collapsed, as people were running around in pannic, trying to find shelter from the storm. At this moment, 5 people were found dead, and more than 140 people are injured.

“The storm struck in an incredibly sudden way,” said Hilde Claes, mayor of Hasselt, who was there. “It was a real whirlwind. I have never seen anything like it in Hasselt before.”

The three-day Pukkelpop festival was set to have featured rapper Eminem and U.S. bands Foo Fighters and The Offspring.

Organizers decided early today to cancel the rest of the festival.

Throwing eggs at Justin Bieber… WIN!

Australian officials have charged a teenager with breaking into a Justin Bieber concert and throwing eggs at the Canadian pop star.

The 17-year-old appeared in a Sydney Children’s Court on Thursday and was charged with breaking and entering, trespassing and malicious damage. He cann’t be named because he is a minor.

Video footage of the concert last Friday at Sydney’s Acer Arena showed several raw eggs smash on the stage, narrowly missing Bieber and his backup singers. (Shame.)
